The television series Monk ran for eight seasons (2002-2009).

It was still popular when the final season began and they could have continued to season nine or even ten, but they didn’t.

They wanted to end the show while it was still popular. They wanted to end the show on a high note, so viewers would have a good memory of it.

They did not want to carry on to the sad moment when the ratings are dropping and the network has to cancel the show, because it is just too boring.

This was, in my opinion, a good decision.

Al Bundy the shoe salesman, on Married… with Children, to a woman who says she knew all along he would be a failure:

“So you think I’m a loser? Just because I have a stinking job that I hate, a family that doesn’t respect me, a whole city that curses the day I was born? Well, that may mean loser to you, but let me tell you something. Every morning when I wake up, I know it’s not going to get any better until I go back to sleep again. So I get up, have my watered-down Tang and still-frozen Pop Tart, get in my car with no upholstery, no gas, and six more payments to fight traffic just for the privilege of putting cheap shoes on the cloven hooves of people like you. I’ll never play football like I thought I would. I’ll never know the touch of a beautiful woman. And I’ll never again know the joy of driving without a bag on my head. But I’m not a loser. ‘Cause, despite it all, me and every other guy who’ll never be what he wanted to be are still out there being what we don’t want to be forty hours a week for life. And the fact that I haven’t put a gun in my mouth, you pudding of a woman, makes me a winner.”

IT Crowd is more realistic to what it’s actually like to work in IT, whereas TBBT is just over exaggerated crap that is the same every bloody week, eg. Same Running gags that are not funny and repeated EVERY bloody week non stop and it gets really boring, whereas on the other hand, The IT Crowd has new and interesting episodes all the time and they never get boring

Here are some example of some Jokes in the show that are really true!

True Clip from The IT Crowd #1:

True Clip from The IT Crowd #2:

And there are many more clips but those two clips above are just some of the examples of how they make great humour on actual real stuff whereas TBBT is so stereotypical that people actually think that Nerds actually behave like that in real life.

Heres an interesting thing, when you play Rock, Paper, Sissors, Lizard, Spock with someone next time, say to them are you playing the game cause you like Star Trek or because you saw this on TBBT and your only playing this because of that show cause it’s ‘Somehow’ funny.

And another interesting thing is people say I’d really like to know Sheldon in real life, but I guarantee that they wouldn’t as TBBT is more of a show making fun of nerds by laughing at them than what The IT Crowd does, which it shows you what it’s really like to work in IT and in the show we’re laughing with them.

Hope you enjoyed my long rant, this is all opinion btw so don’t take it too seriously! 🙂

How do I get Saturday Night Live to see a skit I wrote for them to use?

They do not want to see your skit.

They will go to great lengths to avoid seeing any input or suggestions from anyone who is not employed to write for the show.

They take this position because they do not want to be hassled or sued for allegedly “stealing your idea.”

If you want to make a name for yourself as a sketch comedy writer, you can produce your own sketches and put them on YouTube.

What is the best episode of The IT Crowd?

The Dinner Party. Closely followed by The Final Countdown. But then there’s Friendface. And the one where Jen’s boyfriend is gay. Or a magician. Or Denholm’s funeral. Moss’s mug. No, the football one. THE INTERNET IN A BOX!

Dammit, the ‘best one’ is ALL of the episodes.

She’s not in it too often but Frasier’s agent, Bebe Glazer, is wonderful in every scene she’s in. I’m also a fan of Daphne and Martin’s scenes, although I actually am from Manchester and the attempt at a Manchester accent sometimes grated as I can hear her accent travelling between very many Lancashire towns, even within one sentence.

My favourite character is Niles. I thought making a spin-off of Cheers was a terrible idea and when I saw David Hyde Pierce as Niles, I thought my suspicions were confirmed. He was quite one-dimensional in the early episodes and then I think the writers realised what great comic timing and delivery David Hyde Pierce has, especially when he deadpans. Niles might perhaps be the central character because of the way he relates to the other characters. His verbal sniping with Frasier and Roz, his affection for Daphne, and that he represents a slightly different relationship with Martin than the “Odd Couple” thing Frasier and Martin have.

In which episode of IT Crowd does the fire screensaver appear?

I believe you are referencing series one, episode two – “Calamity Jen”. In this episode, I am a giddy goat and I accidentally set the basement on fire. Typical! Unfortunately, the new emergency number, 01189998819991197253, didn’t work, so I had to send them this email:

Dear Sir/Madam,

123 Clarendon Road.

I look forward to hearing from you.

All the best, Maurice Moss.

What are the most ridiculous things you have heard?

“If India and Pakistan go for war against each other it would be the most entertaining thing of all times”

No, this ain’t my statement. Neither this should be the statement of any sensible human around the world.[1]

But this guy actually did say it on late night tv show trying to turn the whole matter into mere giggles. Further saying Indian soldiers would go on war while singing and dancing to Bollywood item numbers alongside.[2]

Now I know we Indians are bad reputed for not getting the twisted humor and taking offense in little of things.

Why does The IT Crowd only have 6 episodes per season? Is that normal for a British sitcom?

Hahaha! Yes, that’s normal! It would be nice if they had more episodes, but after all, they are Made In Britain. Typical! Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m getting a hot ear.

Why was The IT Crowd cancelled?

It wasn’t. Graham Linehan, the writer, decided to end it as he usually does after a few series before they go stale. Obviously Father Ted previously suffered with the main character dying but it had just finished. A special of the IT crowd was made two years ago to tie up loose ends where Jen found out about the “This is the Internet” joke.
